The Work:
THE TREASURE MAP
White, blue eyed cat came hurrying over to me. She was never relaxed and used to always run around. This time she looked strangely happy. Her fur was fluffed up, which made her look really cute. Then she ran out again. After sometime she came bck in with an old piece of parchment. It was a treasure map. “What an intelligent cat I have!” I exclaimed. As a prize I gave her a girly pink-bow. There was a satisfied look on her face. I followed the treasure map and revealed the treasure. It was a smooth, red, long, straight box. I opened it. There were rectangular pieces of gold in it. I was happy.
THE PIECES OF GOLD
By Neeharika Nene
Mr. Watson was really angry. The gold mine he had planned to dig had become a useless project. Then suddenly he got a call from his assistant. “Sir there is a lot of gold here” he said. “We have dug a rectangular, long mine.” “ I’ll be right there”. Said Mr. Watson. He stood up straight, put on his red and coat hurried off. When he reached he saw all his workers gathered there. They had removed the box and had opened it there. Inside were huge circular pieces of gold . Mr. Watson felt them. They were smooth. Now he was relaxed, happy and satisfied.
THE BRAVE, DREAMING GIRL
NEEHARIKA – 1/4/2011
Trrriiingg! The alarm – clock on Reena’s bedside table rang. She got up and walked lazily to bathroom. She switched on the light. She stared at the flower pot with pretty pink flowers. She felt that they were giving her a naughty grin. Then Reena looked down at her thin hands and smiled. Reena was a tall girl with fair skin and dark hair. She was 18 years old and thought her life was very boring. She got ready quickly and came to her hall. She filled her air-tight lunch box, picked up her pink bag and went down the road, that led to her college. It was not a quite long was to college, though. She sat into an auto when it stopped and said ‘East Read’. She was very fed up of this daily transport. As the auto moved she looked at the expensive dresses in the shops “ I wish mum could give me a bit more pocket money” she thought. ‘Then I would buy these pretty satin gowns.” She saw her huge college building and asked the auto to stop . She got down, paid the auto driver and looked at the sky. The bright sun was bleeding with the blue sky. The moment she entered she heard girls and boys of her age chattering about who had done homework and who had not. Soon everybody, followed by Reena got to their science lesson. Reena did not realise how time passed and it became linch break quickly. As usual she started dreaming in lunch break. She thought she ws swimming in a beautiful lake on a warm summer’s day. Her dreams were interrupted by her teachers call “ Reena! Called her teacher, “ Will you please go up to my office on the 3rd floor and get my notes down.” Reena got up at once and raced up the stairs. She climbed two floors and got tired. Her legs paining she climbed the 3rd floor and walked to her teachers office.
When she opened the door, she was surprised to see someone sitting there already! “Ma’am, you’re here before me!” she said. The lady sitting on the chair turned and to Reena’s astonishment she wasn’t her teacher but she was a lady vampire ! “ Help!” yelled Reena : Aarghhitter teacher came running up and found her fainted on the floor. When she was alright she told her teacher the whole incident. The teacher said “This is because you keep dreaming.” Her teacher scolded her very much, but later it was found that the lady vampire was actually a thief. The teacher took back her words, later it was also found that Reena had tried to catch the lady but was pushed over . because of falling she had forgotten all about her bravery. The teachers and her friends praised her a lot.

A BEAUTIFUL PRESENT
By Neeharika Nene
I was away in america at my cousins place. It was a Friday and I was sad about missing my theatre arts class. I relaxed in an armchair when suddenly I heard a fluttering sound at the window. I opened the window and an owl came in. There was a rectangular box tied to its leg along with a note.. I detached both thing from it’s leg and laid them on the table.
The note said-
Dear Nee,
How are you? We all are missing you very much. Hope you are having a good time. This is a small present for you we are sending! It will surely suit a cute girl like you. Come back soon.
Yours affectionately,
Grade 4 girls.
I was so happy . Oh, my dear friends! The blue eyed, white owl must be one of my friends’ In the box was a red, long and girly bow. I was really satisfied. I sent back 12 pink-bows, 1 for each of my friends.
Working with groups might need improvement, but here's a very promising writer in the making...
